Eye Color

Have you ever thought of how many different eye colors there are out there? One specific color for everyone, different shades, different tints, and different patterns. Like mine for instance, if it is one thing I've always known about my eyes is that they have a border of yellow encompassing the pupil while the rest of the eye is green. I have always thought it was strange to have eye color like that but actually I've grown to love my eyes being this color over the years. They're so different than others I've seen. Whether blue, green, brown, or hazel everyone has their own eyes they look upon everyday in the mirror.

Eyes tend to tell a story of a person. Just by looking at them you can read the words they speak to you and your mind starts to think of everything that person has seen in their life with just their one pair of eyes.

What color is your eyes? Anyone?

What a photo! I felt the eye was watching me, so I moved the comment window right on top of the eye.

It's been a while since you commented, but thanks for your get well wishes. It meant a lot to me to know there were so many people out there. I'm just starting to blog again myself. I hope you'll have time to stop by.

My eyes are the same! I thought that's what color hazel was. -Blue with an amber ring? Does it indicate bidominant color genes or something? I am not much in the biology department I fear.

Awsome picture! Looks like the sun rising in a perfect ocean~sky! Mine are brown with a blue ring, but the ring isn't around the pupil, its an outside ring, and honestly I don't think it used to be there....Think it just showed up like a solar ring a few years ago! Very cool post, Mavin!

You must be Star People. In the book "Earth Angels" the author says that..."Across the board, Earth Angels have unusually shaped and colored eyes. It's common for Star People to have crescent moon shaped eyes like an inverted U. Their eyes are often grey, green or black brown that seem to glow within as if they have bright lights behind them. They may also have a lighter colored ring around them."Bluestar

Ha wow i have the same eye color as you too. Only my eyes change color from blue to grey to green and mixes depending on my clothes or different moods. But ya, I was found your picture because I also have a golden-yellow ring around my pupil and i was wondering if blue eyes with golden rings around the pupils is a specific color trait or if it has a name or somthing?

Like the last poster, my eyes appear to shift color, but they do not have the amber center.

For about 10 percent of caucasians, eyes can change color, usually (but not always) with age. My eyes were bright blue when I was a child, grey-blue as a teen, and are now grey/blue/green as an adult. The latter color is the one people perceive as either grey or green or blue depending on whatever environment I'm in or looking at. I am not sure they actually change color. But they might; it's a difficult thing to check!

My father's eyes were hazel, which I would describe as a brownish-green with an amber center, like yours. However, he told me that when he was a child they were blue.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with strange eyes. Mine are gold around the pupil, green around the middle and then a dark blue ring around the outside. Kinda cool because the gold is the same as my hair. I was also looking for a color chart trying to learn if there is a name for this color. Not really blue or green, but I don't know what to call it. If you ever figure it out please post it. I'm still curious. Carol

Haha! This is really interesting! Just like some of the posts above me, I was looking for a name for my eye color, which is the same as yours (and this also brought me to your page). I was searching for 'aqua eyes' and I think it might be the right expression.
It's a nice color though, much more fun than having straight up blue or brown ;)
